(Kanemaru Etsuroo 金丸悦朗(かなまるえつろう)
Born 1944 in Shizuoka prefecture. Learned Buddhist sculpture from Nishimura Fusazo 西村房蔵 for about 10 years before becoming independent.
"I want to live in the blowing wind.
I want to live in the flowing water.
I want to flow in things unmoved."
At the temple Eirin-Ji in Niigata prefecture, the abbot made a vow to add one figure of the 500 Arhats every month. Most of them are carved by Kanemaru.
